Introduce Your Company To New York City
Is your tech company Made in NY? Join the We Are Made in NY initiative.
1. GET MAPPED: Any NYC tech company can add itself to the map and recruit employees. GET ON THE MADE IN NY LIST: Companies that base at least 75% of development in NYC are encouraged to apply for the Made in NY mark of distinction.
2. TWITTER AND TUMBLR: Tweet and blog about why New York City is a great place to launch a startup using hashtag #madeinny and linking to wearemadeinny.com. We’ll highlight tweets and Tumblr posts that represent New York City’s innovative spirit.
3. NEWSLETTER: Stay connected to New York City’s vibrant digital industry. Subscribe to the We Are Made In NY newsletter to receive updates on events, jobs, programs and resources in NYC’s tech sector.
4. VIDEO: Record a short video introducing your Made In NY company to New York City. Your story will show New Yorkers what it’s like to work in a startup and highlight the thriving digital industry in the city. We will review every video and add your company’s video to the “We Are Made In New York” playlist featured on our homepage if it meets the “Made In NY” criteria:
“Made In NY” Criteria and Video Guidelines:
- Please display the web address of We Are Made in NY at any point in the video: www.wearemadeinny.com
- Your video should be less than 60 seconds.
- Shoot on location at your office, co-working space, or wherever the magic happens.
- What do you want New Yorkers to know about your company? Keep it simple and straightforward. Funny? Relaxed? All business? Show off your company’s personality.
- Include at least one stat about your company you are most proud of. For example: The number of employees at your company. How many New Yorkers your company reaches daily.
- Feature at least 4 employees.
- Mention the borough your company is located in.
- Include your company logo in at least one shot.
- Mention or show your company’s URL.
- End your video by saying “We are (company name). We are Made in New York.”
- Please do not include the Made In NY mark in your video.
- Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo. Give your video a title that includes “We Are Made In NY“.
Tech Tips:
- Shoot in 16:9 aspect ratio in HD
- Good sound quality is essential. Find somewhere quiet to record and speak directly to the camera.
- Make sure your face can be seen. Position the camera so light is on your subject’s face.
- Avoid being in front of a light source like a window or desk lamp, which will cast your face in shadow.
